South Korea in the last decade, hads started strongly, and swiftly, making a considerable headway in its journey of climbing the stairway of world entertainment industry. Since 1990 the global popularity of the South Korean culture started to exponentially rise as a neologism, a secluded culture that found its way out to the world with many productions from K-dramas to K-pop to K-fashion all are the outcome of the global phenomenon of the Korean wave.
I Saw the Devil, Snowpiercer, The Admiral, and even the South Korean version of Old boy are some of the many titles of the best South Korean contributions in the movie production industry. Those movies made a huge success worldwide and won many awards locally and globally.
Train to Busan (Busanhaeng) was the hit of 2016. The movie was released on September 15, 2016 in South Korea and has grossed 99 million dollar worldwide. Directed by Yeon Sang-ho and starring by Gong Yoo, Jung Yu-mi and Ma Dong-seok the movie received many great reviews from many famous web magazines, journals and film review aggregation websites like Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB and got nominated at the Cannes 2016 film festival.
The story of the movie is about a divorced fund manager, Seok-woo, who lives with his daughter and Mother. On the day of his little daughter’s birthday she asked him to take her to visit her mother in Busan. Realizing later that her birthday wish will become her unforgettable nightmare. Some sort of Biohazard outbreak will turn the calm train journey into a dreadful and life threatening run off from those vicious dead people that got turned into zombie by getting bitten: The classical zombie infection way.
