0

It’s that time of year again! 2016 is coming to an end.  So In this article I’m going to talk about my favorite 5 Animes this year, so lets get started:
#1 Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu:

Made by Studio Deen and based on the manga by Haruko Kumota, The 13 episodes anime covers the first 5 volumes of the manga. It tells the story of Yotarou, A former Yakuza fresh out of prison, who wanted to devote his life for Rakugo , a traditional Japanese form of comedic storytelling. So he became the apprentice of a national master Yuurakutei Yakumo.

Frankly, this anime won my heart easily and there’s no doubt that it’s the best anime of the year. The strong point of this anime is the characters who were pretty realistic and really lovable. Plus the amazing atmosphere that shows us the classical art of Rakugo and the impact it had on the Japanese society.  A second season was announced and the first episode is scheduled to air on 7 January 2017 , So make sure to follow this masterpiece.

#2 JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable:

After a successful second season of the JoJo series, David Production decided to make another one this year.  As expected this season, too, delivered with fashionable character designs, exciting fights and great visuals to entertain your eyes.  Diamond Is Unbreakable covers the 4th arc of the manga.  Set in 1999 and 11 years after the events of Stardust Crusaders, the story follows Josuke Higashikata and his friends who become wrapped in a murder mystery .

#3 Mob Psycho 100 :
Mob psycho 100 is made by studio Bones and based on the manga by ONE, the famous mangaka who made One Punch Man.  The story follows Kageyama Shigeo, a student with psychic power trying to lead a normal life but seems to always find himself in abnormal situations where he has to use his abilities. Everyone expected the Mob Psycho adaptation to be a huge hit due to the success the mangaka has had. However, one must praise studio Bones and the staff for the amazing job they’ve done.  Especially with the artwork and visuals.  They remained faithful to the manga and adapted the art style perfectly and with a beautiful soundtrack, they made the ride more enjoyable.

#4 Boku dake ga Inai Machi :

Made by the famous studio A-1 Pictures , Boku dake ga Inai Machi tells the story of Satoru Fujinuma  (warning: this contains spoilers) who has the abilities of going back in time several minutes before any accident occurs so he used his abilities to save lives. But one day, Someone killed  his mother so he had to use his abilities to save her however he finds himself sent back to the past when a fellow classmate died. And it turns out that this accident has a relation to his mother’s death.
It’s really a great drama with many plot twists.

#5 Joker Game :

After a live action movie adaptation in 2015, We finally got an anime adaptation of the famous novel Joker Game by Production I.G.  The story is set in the World War 2 period.  Japan has established a spying organization known as D-AGENCY. Each episode follows a spy and shows his methods to obtain information. An interesting spy thriller with solid visuals and a good soundtrack.
