So, if you remember my review last week, I wasn’t too thrilled with this one but wanted to see where it was going. The second issue starts off just as “meh” as the first but things, well, they changed. A LOT! Remember, there are spoilers the further you go so, read at your own risk.
So the epic battle between Justice League and Suicide Squad continues for the first 3/4 of this issue and by epic, i mean that in the least epic way possible. I don’t know why but the action was just pretty stupid and mundane but it gets real, fast. Superman loses his powers and this seriously changes the fight and Suicide Squad, previously getting their asses handed to [...]
I’m not a huge DC Comics fan but when it comes to Suicide Squad, and especially Harley Quinn, I’m a sucker for pretty much whatever they can put out. I do like Justice League, somewhat, but not as much as The Avengers. However, seeing this I thought to myself “This should be interesting. I gotta read this”. This is a 6 issue series and if you’ve not been under a rock the past year you know who The Suicide Squad is. As disappointing as the movie was, the comic book, isn’t quite as disappointing but so far, it’s still pretty bad.
The first issue really does nothing to advance a story too much. Justice League is sent on a mission to [...]
When we last left off with Venom he and Lee were leaving a trail of bodies behind them within just the first few pages. This month, the body count is far lower but the action is still right on par. Lee now has the briefcase from the transaction gone wrong in the alley and he’s now needing to decide what to do with it. Returning it back to the rightful owner could lead to death. Keeping it could mean a lot of money but could lead to death. He could leave it but maybe the original owner thought he was part of the whole setup as he’s the only one to live and that could lead to, you guessed it, death. We get a guest appearance in this issue and man, is it going to be a [...]
#1 People of Earth
This is one of my favorite new shows of 2016 and it’s easy to see why in the very first episode. It stars Wyatt Cenac (The Daily Show where he wrote 540 episodes), Oscar Nuñez (The Office), Nancy Lenehan (My Name is Earl, Married to the Kelleys, Worst Week), and Tracee Chimo (Orange is the New Black). It is about a reporter who goes to a small town to follow up on people who claim to have been abducted by aliens. These aliens range from “The Grays”, “The Lizard People”, and “The Whites”. Unlike most sci-fi shows however, these aliens are far from super intelligent and at times, bicker and mock each other just as [...]
